It was a beautiful day for the May 8 groundbreaking of The Corner. The $30-million mixed-use project sits at the iconic corner of Michigan Ave & Trumbull, which is the former site of Tiger Stadium.

Honoring the former use of the site, the handles on the ceremonial shovels were baseball bats and hot dogs were served to those in attendance. Eric Larson, the president & CEO of Larson Realty Group LLC, is the developer of the project. He was on hand with Mayor Duggan for the groundbreaking.

The Corner

The project will include 111 residential units, at which 20% will be dedicated to affordable housing. There will also be 26,000 sq ft of 1st floor retail, half of which will be offered to small local retailers at 50% market rate.

Retail Leasing

We are seeking a sports-themed, family oriented restaurant to fill one of the retail spaces.

Corktown

Corktown will be seeing several other developments in addition to The Corner, such as Elton Park and the rumored Ford Motor Company takeover of Michigan Central Station.
